Tagged

I’m very bored. The ‘tag’ is a decent one, okay a nice one. Ten things I love. Easiest answer would probably be a list of Hollywood actresses (:P) but I will make some other list.

1) People- This obviously includes good looking gals. However, it’s not limited to that. It also has my friends, those who are not my friends, just generally nice people. Don’t get me wrong, humanity isn’t in the best state it ever was. But it exists only because of us. Hence, the choice.

2) Politics: The current affairs type and the one that goes on daily. It’s pretty shocking, the kind of things that people tend to do.

3) School (DPS RK Puram): I’ve spent 14 years there, had tonnes of fun, ups and downs, success and failure. And I’ve come out smiling. Thank god, otherwise it’d have been living hell.

4) Lord of The Rings, Godfather, Harry Potter, Isaac Asimov

5) Thinking: Damn it, I like to just sit and think. It’s why my mind is overflowing with a lot of crap, and a few useful bits thrown in.

6) Cell phone, Internet, TV, movies: It’s how I spend my day.

7) Football: best game ever

8) MUSIC: a list of artists and songs would be too long too put up here.

9) Reading and writing: though my fondness has diminished over the past year, these are still 2 of my favourite things to do.

10) Myself: yes, I do err ‘love’ myself. I’m not suchh a bad ‘un. :)

Inflict this ‘tag’ upon more unfortunate souls? Rinku tinku munna and pappu, I tag you; Whoever you are.

Tanha tanha dil apna...

Dil hai parvat jaise bhaari

Raatein ojhal ojhal saari

Tu yeh sochta hai raah kaise aasaan ho

(music)

Saari anjaani hai raahein

Jinme dhoonde teri nigaahen

Koi aisa pal jo aaj ya kal meharbaan ho

Ghoome kab sey dagar dagar

Tu mann ko yeh samjhaave

Raahi ka toh kaam hai chalta hi jaave,

Saaiyan ve, saaiyan ve

Saaiyan saaiyan saaiyan ve…

The song is brilliant; the lyrics, even more so. I cannot, put into words how close this above stanza is to my situation right now. I have two choices, each good in its own regard, Each with its supporters, each with its deriders, each taking my life on a separate path, each unique with different implications. My choice is not to be overwhelmed by the importance of the choice. And believe you me, that’s something a lot of people need to do.

It’s not about distance, it’s not about money, it’s not about defying parents, it’s not about taking a decision and sticking to it, it’s not about going with or against anyone; it’s not about your standing amongst your peers. It’s all about thinking and realizing what YOU really want. It is you who has to live your entire life; you can’t hire a contractor to do that. You can take any amount of advice, from any amount of people. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s your decision to make.

Steve Jobs can help put it better. As you live your life, and look back on it, don’t regret your decisions, make sure you look back and connect the dots. Everything happened because it had to, and it had some role in connecting the dots. Stay hungry, Stay fresh.

My choice is made. Best of Luck for yours and think for yourself.

PS- the title is a line of the song "khamosh raat, sehmi hawa" by A.R. Rehman from the movie Thakshak

schmuck, ass, fool, nerd etc

yours truly has been the receiver of such brickbats for what has now been 1,2,3..(ok i dunt know so much counting) months.. And then came this post, which you can safely presume is going to be utter crap. With it, there are no promises of more, and yawwnnn i'm beginning to bore even myself now..

FRIENDS, congratulate me, i am now metric pass.. 'pass' sounds insulting. my engineering entrances were a disaster, my boards were not. So now I'm headed to DU to do eco hons. St Stephen's will probably not take me, because I'm one painstaking mark away from the darned cut-off. Hansraj will, god bless their souls. Holidaying in kerela was fun. they drive scooters in lungis. All their curries are the same. If you put chicken in it, u have masala chicken, if u put paneer in it, u have shahi paneer etc etc etc. yeesh
NOW, I'm absolutely free. I'm watching movies by the dozen on TV, on DVD, on VCD, on youtube on anything i find. I'm also roaming about here and there excessively which has strengthened my parents' belief 'ladka bigad gaya hai' which i very cleverly counter with the 'abhi nahi toh kabbb?? complete with puppy dog look'..
now, that i've successfully had everyone doze off, goodnight..
